Boatwright Computer Classroom -- Inside and Outside Access

QUESTION: Why must I exit the library and re-enter from the outside door when there is a perfectly good door to the computer classroom? Why is this door locked before 12:45 a.m.?
ANSWER: The Boatwright Computer Classroom serves several purposes -- a 24-hour accessible computer lab, instruction classroom, and as an overflow area for computer use in the library. Since the library closes B1 and B2 at 1 a.m. (Sunday - Thursday) and at 5 p.m. (Friday & Saturday), all students will need to leave the BCC when inside access closes, so that materials and belongings may be checked through the library's security system. Students may then return to the BCC through the outside access door. Basically, this is a security procedure for library materials and for securing B1 and B2 at their closing time.
